Our story

On the 8th of March 2019, the night we met became the night our fates intertwined forever. The sparks flew so high that we began our journey together that very same evening.

A story seven years in the making.

Through troubles and tribulations, a beautiful love story is opening its next chapter. Two young lovers from Upington, each having already set off on life’s different journeys, came together on the 8th of March 2019 to begin their love story.

Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and her Prince, Ariel and Prince Eric — these love stories are beautiful because they are only stories. Real, true love takes determination, patience, and grit. Our story is a fairytale of its own, complete with long distance, countless video calls, and unwavering commitment. Even so, the last seven years have been nothing short of magical.

Fast forward to the 21st of September 2024. On a beautiful summer afternoon, in the town where it all began, Dean got down on one knee and asked Felicia the most important question of their lives — barely able to get the words out:

“Will you stand by my side for the rest of my life?”

It was the fastest “yes” Dean has ever heard. 💍✨
